Yoga Classes and Yoga Therapy

What my teachers did not tell me about Yoga.

Over the years I have many teachers , and still have (always a student).

From the Beginning I thought yoga was just a physical practice. and at the start it was , over the years I began to feel those significant differences that brought stillness to the mind.

Having that space in my mind created so much more structure and rapid changes to my health and wellbeing, my mind was blown.

There is a whole world of yoga beyond the Asanas.

But that is where it all starts.

When we first enter a class , we sit down on a mat we start to centre ourselves (what does that even mean?)

We bring this in to the beginning, because we as teachers cannot say , sit down be quiet so we can start the class the right way, or maybe some do!   fist pump there for you.  Centring can mean whatever you want it to but (the concentration of attention or energy on something ) is where we will start.

Where we start is the body!

There are so may ques to start our yoga class,  as a teacher you find your own words and feel into the energy of the class.

Many a time I have planned classes, only to find that walking into a space and feeling the energy is so much more beneficial to your students and you ,  than letting your ego run wild and do your prepared class.

Our time on the mat is a chance to focus on our bodies.

And in turn liberate our minds, with the help of all that is in-between asana, and basically feel frigging awesome.

It took me so long going to different teacher so many classes to realise Asana was just the physical that opened up a whole new world for my evolution and for the wellness of my students.

Now 10 years on diving into Yoga Therapy , mind is blown once again.
